Have you checked the oil level in the carb dashpot? Unscrew the black plastic cap, should be some oil in there, fill it to the ridge. Use engine oil, something like 20/50. The haynes manual will tell you how to do it if you are not sure.

Obviously a fuel issue.

Is the choke going off?,remove dashpot and look to see the jet return up.

Is the fuel regulater knackered?...replace with one you know works.

Are the fuel lines in good order, especially the return?

Are you using the correct fuel pump?..not a ten million psi one from NASA.

JF..

OH...Have you had the plenum off the carb recently??

Sold the turbo and seeing what the C20XE can do!

Near Lincoln

chokes a good one, sometimes the fibreglass heatsheild can prevent the choke from going all the way home. Maybe the carb is just in need of a good rebuild?

My sister is so fit I won't show anyone her picture

Lake District

Is it actually choking from over fuelling, or is it misfiring from leaning out ? checked fuel pressure ?
On the other hand is the spark good ? plugs leads coil in good order ? dodgy ignition module ? or are these failing under load ?

Phil. *smiley*

This sounds oh -so- typical of the balance pipe being split, or the carb vent solenoid not working...

3000 rpm (as the boost is starting to build)
Chokes under hard acceleration
kinda fine under light accelertion

etc, etc, etc...

yup exactly the same as mine until i found out how to plumb it in properly, so i'd guess at a split hose aswell.

Trouble is, it's almost guaranteed they don't know anything about turbo motors...

had a chat with the bloke he claims nothing is wrong have sort legal advise told to get a engineers report then sue him for the damage to hav it fixed, by the way the balence pipe was split helpped a little and after the site you posted, it could be the run on valve as sometimes it does run on or am a just guessing?
thanx again dave
