Has anyone tried the eBay sniper websites that claim to place your maximum bid at the last second? Are they a con or do they work?

here's one I found but am not sure if I trust them...

I use them, my one is great. I know it's naughty and cheating, but if everyone else is doing it, if you can't beat them, join them.

Which one do you use Nicky?

My problem is most of the items I'm interested end on the weekend - and I don;t have internet access then... I've lost loads of good parts because of this

I like fooking over the snipers by occasionally finishing auctions with a few seconds to go... *wink*
If there is somethign I really want, I'll also put in a high bid with a few seconds to go. It's amusing when you win and see just how many bids come in in the last two seconds.

www.auctionstealer.com is my sniper of choice.

As an interesting aside, when I sold my Corrado a couple of years ago, the bidding went up £700 in the last 10 seconds :)

how can it be cheating really? all it is doing is putting a bid in at the last possible few seconds. Its the same as being sat there counting down the seconds before entering the bid yourself.

Well thats how I see it anyone wanting to know the one I used and have used for about 3years with no problems send me your email by PM and I will send you a email via the site I use so I can gain some free ones lol.

Like say I have had no problems, their prices seem fairly reasonable too.

auctionstealer is a freebie for (I think) 3 per week or something. They do a subscriber service as well.
