14.7 I idle the skyline around 15.3afr but 13.5 should be ok
how much co @ idle you aloud? If you look up afr vs co chart it should give you an idea

As close to 14.7 as poss maybe a little richer if idle is poor.

For the mot most will be required to be bellow 3% CO but remember that is an average.

13.5 sounds a bit too rich for it to pass an mot unless its just a visual

Is it A-Series only? I think it should be...
So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'...

I don,t think the AEM is that accurate at idle.I show anything from 12.5 to 13.5 normally.

With a carburated engine my view is that it will normally be rich at idle to get a reliable idle and initial pick up.

I don,t have an MOT problem (Pre 1960) but I can appreciate that it can be necessary to have a weak idling mixture to pass emissions.

Up to 83 is below 4.5% and 1200ppm HCC

After 83 is below 3.5% CO and 1200PPM HCC..

However...I think there was a clause for MG Metro's and some other cars that if they couldnt meet these requirements at idle, a fast idle test was allowed ?
SO it may apply to other A-Series/SU equipped cars ?

As long as the wideband sensor is nowhere near the tailpipe, no reason why it shouldnt be deemed "accurate" as far as displaying AFR's to the best of its ability.

Displayed AFR's cannot be relied upon to be directly linked to CO, HCC, CO2, O2, or lambda though as other things can affect these readings as measured by a proper gas analyser. Like air leaks, misfires etc

In theory though they should.

9.85 @ 145mph

speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will
