Hi All, I've done the usual search as I thought there was a thread on this but didn't find anything, so I apologise in advance if there was.

Obviously as per title, just looking into building up front hubs. I have always used Timken Taper bearings, but was considering ball bearings as per some Minis & Metros due to less surface area / friction ! I'm sure I was told Keith Calver uses ball in his racer, what are anyone's thoughts or experiences ?

I'd think taper be the better bearing.

But probably very little in it really.

Taper, easier to fit and remove imo

ring problems are down to wear or abuse but although annoying it isn't a show stopper

I've always used ball, never had a problem and cost a fuckton less.
