You need more boost to soak up all that extra fuel.

But in all seriousness, BDD is the standard turbo needle - if it is too rich, then something is amiss. Where is it rich? Part throttle? Cruise, WOT? or just idle?

I take it you've actually tried adjusting the mixture screw ? You'll also find if you've lowered the compression much, that you'll need more ignition advance, this will affect mixture.
What emissions readings are you seeing ?

Phil.

What spring are you running? it should be easy to get this to pass, unless you have turbo'd an MPi

Have you got a standard camshaft or an aftermarket lumpy cam as well?

when i took it for mot it was to rich the back of the car was black, then while it was being tested they left it running, when they came to do emissions it blew blue smoke out so failed. i have changed turbo but i still have black smoke on idle, when i rev the engine it clears. l have had this car for 5 years it has got a 244sp cam in it

The Black Countraaaaay

get a fuel pressure gauge on it to see exactly whats going through it. I'm amazed the guy at the garage didn't offer to do it (or I may be blessed with a nice m.o.t tester)
