I can afford to have it exchanged but if i can find a cheaper way/onehat would be a bonus.

Ooooo yeah also i have the down pipe of the metro exhaust welded to a different piece, but it has that crap ball joint bit, where can i get a good down pipe, is mirage motorsport a good idea? will they sell it seperately or is it only part of there T2 conversion kit?

can anyone help please. you all sound like you know what your talkin bout?

calvin cheers.

A rebuild is going to cost u a fair bit... thats all there is to it sadly. Turbotechnics are ?305 +vat and carridge. They are a good choice as they do a top job.

Another option is to rebuild your DIY style... a kit is only ?80... but you need a fair amount of skill and its not always stright forawrd! Whats actually wrong with your turbo?

The down pipe is easy... You can get a maniflow one from any of the normal mini shops (minisprares, minispeed, minisport) or you can buy direct from Maniflow. Alternativly you can use a std mg metro down pipe and cut it to lenght :)

Don't wanna be the bringer of doom...

But everyone I know that bought a cheap Turbo has found out that they are bag of shit. (Not just mini's)

Spend your money on a reconditioned tubo from a reputable firm.

Money spent on cheap turbo's is wasted money in my opinion.

On the bright side of things, now may be a good time to consider a T2 conversion *happy*

it all depends on the spec of the T2.5. But this will not fit on the metro manifold without modifications, but I guess you allready know that.
and you have mail.

Let me guess, Jim has enquired about the turbocharger....

And, i can not reccomend AET in yorkshire (01924 894 171) enough for 'budget' re-con turbos...
But having said that, places like TT do charge what they charge, because they make such a fantastic job of it...
Kinda like the difference between minispeed and Swiftune engines... Both work, but one will be generally better....

Turbodave, whats wrong with AET?

Somone who owns a garage in pudsey told me about them and how they will recondition my turbo for ?100. Infact its ?100 for nearly all turbos. I was sceptical to be honest...
