Do any of you have adjustable runners on your seats? What ones do you use? I want the ones that lock on both runners but dont know what make to go for, it will make no difference to the seats that Im using.

This is the type of thing I want but can see no rea difference between cheap and expensive ones

I use the ones that came with my Lotus seats. The double lockers work well if you can keep them square or they tend to lock one side and not the other...

The handle tucks well under the seat base.

I think al lot of the quality comes down to the ball bearings that are used to make the mech work. some I have seen are just greased runners which don't move very well when you are sat on the seat...

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

Does the seat need to be adjustable now for the mot? I've never had an issue with fixed seats in the past.

As for the adjustable runners, i've generally used the runners than came with the seats or adapted metro ones as that is what i'd have laying around. They aren't light though

Seats must have 2-3 locked in positions now

I seriously doubt it!

What is the MOT regulation as i have fixed side mounts for my seats, although they haven't been fitted yet.

I have a pair of cobra monaco seats if that makes any difference to my options.

Never heard of that one, or ever seen my seats being tested? Surely if the seats set for the only person who ever drives it whats the issue?

Swansea boyo!

I don't think they checked mine last week when it went for an MOT. The seat runners I have from minispares aren't very smooth, I've caught my fingers a few times moving them :(

They don't die, they just get faster!

I read somewhere recently that if a seat is designed to move, it should. Obviously if a seat is designed not to move, it can't and as long as its bolted down safely I don't see the problem in it. I think its a blurry line tbh.

From this page http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=25433

'We're also told fixed drivers' seats are acceptable in any vehicle provided the adjusting mechanism has been removed and the seat is now clearly a fixed seat in one position. Simply removing the adjuster lever or locking it in one position won't be acceptable for an MOT.'

My tester said he would apply common sense when I asked about my car.

Not that it will ever see an MOT test in this decade *wink*

Our local tester said that as long as the seats didn't have integrated runners as standard he wouldn't fail it for not moving.
