Is this a newly built engine, i.e. rebored and using a new set of rings ?

The motor has now about 8000miles on the clock but was fresh bored with +0.40 Mega Turbo pistons and rings.

I've experienced the same thing on a low milage engine that was pulled and put together with the same rings to save some cash. Stripped it and put in a new set of rings and it was fine. |

Yes , maybe the oil scrap ring has become weak! Will inspect the bore and hone the cylinders at the end of this season.
