Now iv'e got your attention I'm Jay and a big hello to you lot out there in cyber space.need some help with my turbo project.as we all do at sometime.got a 1380 turbo engine from avonbar brand new and we fitted it with a new turbo aswell. the problem is after about 100 miles it started to smoke really bad and we lost compression in no4 cylinder we have removed the head again and it seems to be fine. gunna try a new head gasket and see if that works

What colour was the smoke?

bluy grey

white - water

black - fuel

blue - oil.


bluy grey - could be a head gasket, could be rings! Did you do a proper compression test?

yes we used a compression test and showed that no4 was at about 3bar 1 2 and 3 were at around 8bar

wet and dry?
