hi ,
iv just sent my 1293 engine of to the builders for a general check over and find out the compression ratio before i drop it in.

the previous owner told me that it has a metro cam and a big valve head , other than that and the re bore it is apparently standard,

iv got a few things in mind to have done while its all apart, such as center main strap, and potentialy cross pin diff, just wondering what you guys recon i should have done on top of this to ensure it is good for winding up the boost and things ill want to do now to stop me taking it apart again, also whats the crack with lightend flywheels , is it worth it with a turbo or will it struggle to idle ?

How much power depends how much boost you put through it which depends somewhat on what your compression turns out to be.

I think light flywheels are a good idea on a turbo. helps it pick up from low revs which will reduce any lag a bit. It wont really effect idle, your not running a lumpy cam so should be smooth.

The cross pin diff is the first thing id fit to a transmission probably followed by a better clutch.

Centre main cant hurt, its cheap insurance but id say the biggest thing you need to sort out is your compression ratio.
