Twin Cam Turbo Build In Progress Rothwell, Northants

Hi Lads,

Ive bought a complete K1100 engine so that I could use the head and other parts etc.
Upon removing the cams and starting to remove the torx bolts Ive managed to wist through one of the torx bolts meaning that the bolt is still torqued up and My Torx socket is just spining in the top of the bolt and I cant get any grip.

Anyone got any ideas on how to procede, I dont want to drill out the bolt head or add any addition heat to the head if I can help it.

I ended up drilling out one stubborn head stud on the k1100 engine I bought as I had no other way of shifting it.

If you do end up drilling it out, it can be done but go steady and keep checking your progress. You will almost certainly need to replace the hardened washer for that stud hole as well.

Thats the good thing about the hardened washers, they give you miles of scope to drill it out. Very cheap to replace too.
