Right after much brain picking (thank you all) most of the main parts needed for my 998 turbo are in the bag or on their way. I now have a GT15 turbo and the intercooler, carb & plenum, EDIS and 12G295 head are all in the post. I'll be heading down to my local forge soon to see if they can do any pipes for me and I'm sourcing parts for a MegaJolt. |

You will need a custon exhaust manifold to suit your turbo. You may be able to adapt a metro turbo manifold to suit, I don't know. But an LCB is no use whatsoever. The turbo needs to bolt to the manifold, and the manifold needs to be sturdy, as it will have to support the weight of the turbo. You will then need to make a downpipe to fit to your turbo.

Yes I forgot about the regulator and pump but I already have a metro turbo fuel pump although I think I may ditch it in favour of an SPI fuel tank. and I can get a regulator from Mini spares for about £10 i think.

Oh now I think about it, can I even use a Metro turbo inlet manifold on a 12g295 head...? |

I don't think you will get the correct rising rate fuel regulator for a tenner from Minispares.

It would be the pistons I would worry about personally.

Can't make any recommendation as I've never turbo'd a 998.

I've had two sets of pistons in the engine:

The slipper pistons were pretty standard pistons. The only reason they broke was we were running 18psi. They had run for some time in the engine, just at lower boost. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

Will my standard pistons survive for a reasonable amount of time?

Does anyone - possibly will or ben as you have a 998 - have any pictures of an exhaust manifold and turbo? I think this is the only area I'm a little unsure of as yet.

We just use the standard metro turbo exhaust and inlet manifold. It will all fit. http://www.twin-turbo.co.uk

What sort of adaptions did you need to fit the turbo/downpipe? |

We use a T3 so all the bits are off the shelf.
