Hi gents,

In a bit of a quandary deciding on which straight cut drop gear ratio to use.

Currently running standard helical drops & box with a 3.44 FD.

Engine is 1293 + T2.

Any input as to which ratio to plump for and why would be much appreciated! I would be open to changing the FD ratio if it makes sense.

I would use 1:1 drops, as they are the quietest. I would also run 2.9 final drive on Helical Gearset or 3.1 /3.2 FD on SCCR box.

T2 should bring the power in nice and low. I've just gone from 2.9 to 3.1 and it's now much noisey on the motorway than before. Depends on more requirements.

Why do you need SC Drops anyway. A few people on here running big power on helical drops. I'm currently pushing 180bhp with no problems.

Sc drops are noisy as fcuk no matter what though! Lol

If something is worth doing, it's worth doing half of.
