Hi all,

What the rules on using harnesses on the road? I presume the twist buckle fia stuff is a no and you have to use the push button stuff?

Looking for two in black

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

you can use the and they pass MOT fine but to be honest dont bother. I used to use them but you cant lean forward to check round corners/bends.
If you really want the look Demon Tweeks sell (or sold) some 3 points that use the same system as standard seatbelts so you can still move around

I've used twist buckle harnesses on the road plenty of times, and they are also ok for the MOT.

I have a six point roll cage (safety devices) with the safety devices harness bar which locates on to the tunnel.
the harness bar just has loops for the harness itself - would this inertia reel harness still work with my harness bar? anyway of making it work if not?

thanks

Strictly speaking the buckle is supposed to be a red push and CE approved.

Aircraft buckles are not those. But Ive never heard of a car failing for having the aircraft buckles.

From a handiness point of view...you could upgrade to inertial reel seat belts then lol.

I have some securon 4 points in the metro, easy to fit and quite comfortable. I prefer them to inertia belts but thats personal preference

Hi all, after some more advice.

I have finally got the cage in and all bolted down as per the instructions.

The harness bar wasn't quite as good as fit as the rest of the cage, but its all in now. The issue I have is that the ears on my seats are too far apart, they are elise seats, I didn't think they would be an issue, before I go splashing a load of dsoh on new seats that won't match the car as well, is it safe to cut some harness holes in as per the link below. Having a google there seems to be mixed views.

http://www.vx220.org.uk/forums/topic/71692...sector-111-kit/

So what some everyone think, shite idea or ok / Safe?

Thanks
Graham

The Black Countraaaaay

dont quote me but I think the elise/exige seats were based on are sparco race seats so may be worth looking on their website.
Personally I wouldn't mess round with the seats for reasons of weakening the structure or just fucking up and ruining a pair of perfectly good seats

No problem, get cutting. The seat shouldn't take the harness load , if you think about it.........

Well I had a good look about and could only find one set of seats that I like, but they were about 500 each, so I ordered the grommets and will do some choppy choppy.....like Steve says I didn't think about it and your not cutting the structural re-enforcement part of the seat, it the seat fails in a crash I guess there will be loads more to worry about.... Let's face it I could be driving around with the original mk2 low backs in
