I made a new bracket to attach my new horn to the front panel using stainless steel. What I didn't think about was that stainless steel isn't as good as a conductor as carbon steel. The horn is single terminal so the bracket is working as an earth. Will stainless steel work as an earth?

Try it and see. I think it will work fine.

Hope so! Couldn't find anything on Google saying it wouldn't work... |

Electrical conductivity is pretty much identical to carbon steel (both are crap, you need gold, copper or aluminium for really good electrical conduction, but steel works fine on a car).

It's a horn, not a life support machine...it'll work, dont worry about it. 9.85 @ 145mph

use some electrical conductive grease also known as dielectric grease/paste it will stop any corrosion and help conductivity but like said its just the horn imo |

my bad, it will however keep corrosion away relying on metal to metal contact for the current path |

i use copper-ease for this application. seems to work surprisingly well at avoiding dis-similar metal corrosion/electrolysis. turbo 16v k-series 11.9@118.9 :)
