Considering they want £500 extra on my current policy for less power I genuinely don't believe you've declared everything you should have. Although insurance companies do pluck a random number out of the air so who knows.. They don't die, they just get faster! |

Christ that's hilarious! If they don't pluck numbers out of the air why is it always cheaper to take out a new quote with the same company as it is to renew? Or it has been in the past 3 years I've been driving. This isn't a topic about how insurance works so I hope your actually covered should the worst happen.

Just tried to get a call back from HIC and I'm guessing they were busy because i was on hold for ages so I got sent through the loop again and ended up speaking to Adrian flux and they said they are a sister company and they said they could beat the price, gave them all the details with all my mods and it came out as £290!! Whattttt |

Yep it does seam like random numbers atleast, but for standard polo its like 300, my 200sx with 280bhp 400? My cooper 300? All which sit outside, not really fussed about them if anythin bad happens.. but my turbo mini which is tucked up n i care for like a baby and has everything possible declared from pistons to brakes to gearbox EVERYTHING... only 190? And has the most inc out of all my policys? Maybe ins companys see that we care about them more so less is likely to happen to it? Thats my theory anyway? On 24th Oct, 2015 jonny f said:

I insure my show mini and pay £196 full comp with agreed value of 10k , the heavily modified turbo scamp with all mods declared £95 quid fully comp . Same company , completely different underwriters . I have never been able to beat the prices , but every year they change up or down by a few quid . |
