I am replacing my steering rack on my new build, and don't have the old rack to hand to see how many turns each track rod end is wound on.

Can anyone give me an idea of how many full turns my new track rod ends need to be wound onto the new rack?

Many thanks

Northamptonshire.

also depends on trackrod ends being used aswell, Spitfire ones IIRC are used if your using 1,5 neg camber arms

also down to how the threads where machined

this question is the same as how longs a piece of string.

As a number to get you going, to work off id say 9/10 from memory for standard items, then just get it to your nearest trackin place before u ruin any tyres etc

The steering racks could be different widths too, too many variables involved in my opinion, as dave says above, get it something like and go straight to your nearest alignment place.

i found the good old eye ball to be rather good at this,

right hand drive car?, on the left (where the steering column would be on a lhd) there is a rubber bung in the steering rack, pull it out and put a long ish bolt in there and it will lock the steering rack dead center, set the steering wheel straight and eyeball the tow in/out
then get it checked *happy*,
