any one an idea what height to set them above the casting using avonbar phase 2 ?

I always press them in using the thickness off a 2p coin as a guide for how far they protrude above the top of the head face. |

I press them so that only the taper of the guide is above the top deck. On 13th Jul, 2012 Ben H said:

you have .400 lobe lift on the exhaust so times 1,5 = .600 plus some extra room for seals if you want them on the exhausts and a safety margin .measured under the topcap fitted to the valve to the top of the guide. you end up with something akin to what vegar does . i would consider keeping the intakes a bit further out (as it lifts a bit less : less sticking into the port but still full lenght guide ) but you do need the extra room for the seals there . That sir, is not rust, it is the progressive mass reduction system

i got the number somewhere quick . did not read properly and assumed lobe lift. I did think that it was quite a lot but went along anyway ( no beer involved). sorry bout that
