Shauna's 998 turbo I think even at 80-90hp will probably kill off a standard verto setup, and minispares don't have the turbo clutch kits in stock, are there any alternatives to beefing up the clutch without going as radical as an RTS? Cheers. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Or does anyone have a turbo pressure plate hovering around they aren't going to use? On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

I would have thought a standard 1275 verto with a good clutch plate would be more than up to the job.

Any idea of what clutch plate we should be looking for? I can't remember the last time I bought anything for a verto clutch! On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Thinking about it, the donor flywheel and clutch could possibly be a 190mm, I'll have to check soon when I've pulled it, I'm hoping that's the case as it's a 1275a+ hif38 catalyst fitted engine. Well, it was! On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Cheers. Standard turbo Verto was designed to run that all day long, so shouldnt pose a problem. Not all verto's are equal though, some will hold pressure very well if you get a good strong cover. Finding one is the hard part. My normal single verto held well over 20psi boost from a large T3 with a paddle disc. It destroyed many a gearbox, but the clutch always held. Some covers if you can find them really do clamp hard, but it really is just down to terrible quality control. The Cover I used was just a remanufactured Balco unit for a 998 I tried about 5-6 clutches before finding it, even proper turbo ones slipped at the first hint of boost. 9.85 @ 145mph
