So I was interested in a car on ebay. Sent the seller a message asking about the mileage as it wasn't listed. Got told the bottom end had done 90000 and the top 70000. That was it. No explanation or anything. Just those 2 figures.
Judging by the couple of negative feedback I don't think I'll be going for it. Shame. Looks the part.

sound to me like the bottom end has done 90k and the top has done 70k then *tongue*
below the head gasket is usually spoken as bottom end, above it the top end,

so its either had a higher mileage bottom end fitted after a failure or more likely a newer head

both sound dodgy, usually on a stock engine the reason for a head swap is cam belt failure, that usually damages pistons but i have rebuilt a few engines that got lucky
