so anyone doing/done this? ive had a bit of a look round and will have a much better look around later today just thought id see what people have to say about it

ill also try find the maps for it too

basically id like to do the head for the best sort of efficiency range that the turbo can give for my engine characteristics

the whole point of this is to get the most compression ratio and boost as i can but not just making hot air

If by "old T3" you mean the OE metro turbo T3, these are very much strangled by the turbine, as well as the compressor.
The escort Rst T3 however, that has much better results...
But both are poor cousins to the more modern GT series.

around 25 psi boost seems the max at around 160 to 180 bhp josh ,then the boost capacity drops to 21 psi at around 190 to 200 hp .(where eff is low and its all getting a bit hot ..)

that's not accounting for losses in the inlet .

and also using 10 lbs/100 bhp ,which depends on the eff of your engine .

thanks guys the t3 is basicly just to get me boosting as im sure ill change the manifold slightly and then get a new turbo to propaly match the engine and application

for now tho ive got what ive got sold to me as a metro challange T3 the markings ive take from the castings are
cold side AR.42 and hot side AR.25

Mg metro spec turbo by the sounds of it. The rs one is .42 /.36
