Is there any difference in clearance between Mk1 and Mk4 shells?

don't think so - bulkheads were the same as were frames to an extent, however I do recall the later frames (possibly injection) had the engine mounts slightly further forward to give more clearance |

The dip in the bulkhead crossmember is deeper from Mk4 onwards to give more clearance to a waxstat HS4. Metric is for people who can't do fractions. |

When they changed to HIF carbs, they moved the engine forward in the frame about 10mm. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
