Twin Cam Turbo Build In Progress Rothwell, Northants

What do you guys use to de grease an engine and which paint do you use?
Do you paint the gearbox, clutch housing, block and head or are there certain parts to avoid?

brake cleaner that comes in 5L bottles applied using a small "weed sprayer" type trigger gun.

this is the one i use, requires some mild modification for continued use with brake cleaner but works better than the ones supplied by the companies who actually sell the brake cleaner.

I've always used gunk which usually gets everything off with a good jet wash! I believe you can buy proper engine paint from minispares which I've heard good stuff about but they only do yellow and green :(

They don't die, they just get faster!

Quarry Bonk

I've used petrol and diesel to good effect for getting the crap off an engine, and a jetwash.

Skip the petrol an diesel! Just smells and didn't really do a great deal. With the gunk spray it on and give it a wire brush then leave it for a bit before jetwashing it then if there's anything really stubborn give it a second load *tongue*
