Around here they sometimes do it to... its been told that if the nut comes of it can't drop out so you can still steer... you can do anything if you set your mind to it...

I would have thought on a lowered car it would increase bump steer. Maybe wrong |

So it is correct from underneath!? There is a taper that way... mounting from on top is wrong.. and just so i know what is bump steer n how would mounting it that way add to it? Many thanks for all your replys as ive wondered this before On 24th Oct, 2015 jonny f said:

Unless the taper has been drilled the other way or drilled out and a non standard track rod fitted, that's pretty dangerous, it wouldn't physically fit in the other way round so some modification has to have been done. Splitting the track rods can be bad enough some times, that's all the security you'd need. But then they are fitted with nylocks. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

Swap the left & right steering arms over so the taper goes the other way? Edited by Rob H on 27th Sep, 2014. Isambard Kingdom Brunel said:

That would compound the bumpsteer even more though - the arms drop down normally so it you swapped them they'd go up. Plus you'd have to lose the locating dowels from the hub/arm |
