Well, shauna bought a new 70a alternator from minispares and it's done nothing but squeal like a pig, I've tightened it up a few times thinking its come loose but still kept doing it. My old 70a one which I've thrown on hasn't slipped at all. The difference is the pulley, my old 70a and every other usual alternator I've seen has a pressed pulley that tapers down to nothing, the one supplied on the minispares alternator is wider then the other and it also has a flat bottom and it's a load of shit. Has anyone else used one?. I'll let the picture do the talking....

IIRC from a past life, as well as Vee belts coming in different widths there are at least two different height (or thickness) profiles so for the same width at the top (outer circumference) the inner circumference sits lower or higher in the pulley groove.

Personally I think you should just keep it for yours and I'll buy a belt to suit They don't die, they just get faster! |

Stabbed in the spuds? I would do more than squeal.... I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.
