The compression ratio is a tad high. Is that standard on these new ecoboost engines?

yep, direct injection enabled...
The combustion pressures are sky high on this engine too; getting into diesel territory - hence why it uses a CGI block... Makes me think that if they have gone to that effort, they will diesel-ise it one day too...
