hi all, I have a bare shell, I also have a brand new wiring loom from auto sparks my question is this. is it a diy job or is it best to pay a sparky to do the job? I can hold my own in the garage but never taken on a complete re wire, I have countless wiring diagrams from the web, back of Haynes manual ect but the colours never seam to correspond to anything?! the car is going to be kept to a bare minimal electrically speaking, lights, wipers and a heater. iv even thought of just making a loom myself with a big fuse box.

no I know there's not a lot to it its just I have miles of wire for a 850 van and im putting in a metro turbo lump so I know im going to have to cut and rewire certain things to suit the new engine ect so was thinking a home made loom with minimal wiring would be the way forward?? I'd just pic up a s/h loom, maybe one from a later model.

If you get stuck I'll be down in two weeks, I'm pretty handy with electrical stuff, do you still want the 8mm copper off Shauna too? Edited by Carlzilla on 26th Oct, 2014. On 26th Jan, 2012 Tom Fenton said:

I wired my car from scratch, diagrams in my build thread '1275gts'. It's easy enough if you think it through. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:
