Hi guys,

Just a quickie - I'm using a MAP version of the megajolt on my NA engine, 1380 with a kent 286 cam and a weber 45 DCOE.

I have taken a feed from each side of the inlet and put them onto a fuel filter and then through to the MJ. I read somewhere (was a while ago and can't remember where) that the Fuel filter would help with the pulsing that would come from the engine

I just want to know if the MJ will work okay with this setup, as I really don't want to have to sell it and buy a dizzy or a TPS MJ and then the TPS setup for the weber.

Thanks

I knew someone who did the same and it seemed to work ok.

I run a supercharger and I don't care the TB is on the wrong side.

I'm sure the innards of the filter have to be removed, but otherwise should be fine. Double check that first though as im not 100% on it!

sounds perfect, the filter will give good dampening of the signal with or without the filter element

have you had the engine running with the laptop plugged in? if it gives a good stable map reading dont worry *happy*

I haven't had it running with the laptop no Brett - I will check that out thanks. It doesn't idle on its own just yet I need to keep the throttle open slightly (Haven't sorted the throttle cable yet so need to do that).

so the general thought is yes it should be okay then?

Mines been ok for about 3 years, but it's just started leaking. Don't think the seals like petrol vapour that much. So i'm on the lookout for a alloy box, type of thing.

Ive used a fuel filter to help clean up the MAP signal,

the trick is to stuff a small restriction on the engine side of the filter, somthing like a MIG tip drilled out to 1.5mm.

I just use a t-piece from the two branches and a pipe straight to the mj. The signal seems nice and stable so never added a chamber, although I had planned to at first.
That's a 45 with a 296 cam in.

Plenty of time on the rollers! I can't really help with jets etc though as I haven't a record of what's in there. I set the maps myself at the same time on the rolling road. It all works well though it would be interesting to see if a chamber made it any smoother.

I ran mine through a filter and worked a treat.

Warwick.

I did no sort of damping with mine, just a feed from each section into a Y push fit, straight to the megajolt unit, I didnt have any problems but never did get it rolling roaded

I was under the understanding it only really helped with lumpy cams and I was running a 296 so gave it a go. No idea if it would have been the same without

Okay thanks guys :) I will keep the filter there then if the guy at the rolling road station says it isn't needed I can remove
