Just what to check with you guys before I start drilling holes in my van floor! Can I mount a swirl pot upside down? I know it's designed to be upright but surely if I reverse the outlet to inlets and vice verser it would serve the same purpose?? The reason being is I don't want fuel line running inside the car for obvious reasons! The pot I have this.
Cheers guys!

You probably could. But bare in mind a lot of cheap swirl tanks will not be made to carry the weight of fuel/tank on their thin bases which may lead to a failure.

If you want one specific to your needs, just get one made.

Yea I'll keep that in mind. Maybe 2 long thick steel cable ties as added support. Should take most of the strain off the welds! Mines only a litre in capacity so it's not carrying massive amount/weight of fuel!

If you mount it upside down it won't work connected as shown (as you say). But even if you swap it all over the lifter pump input will be in the wrong place, it might work, but it won't be ideal.

When I did mine, I put the bracket on the top and bolted it through the floor. It was fine. I ran the return through the car no problem.

Yea that's how I am thinking of mounting my one! If I had a salon I'd mount it upright as it should be in the boot but I have a van and seen as there's no where really to mount it!

Yea that is a option. I'll have to have a better look when I get chance. Get my welder mate up see if he can fabricate something. Unless anyone knows of someone in South Wales who can weld ally?

Yeah, that's the lifter pump input. I would have liked it a bit higher, but that's the way it came, worked ok.

Spencer at SM Fabrications can make anything you need, and a very good job too.

This person also can do the fabrication.

He may actually have done Wil_H's swirl pot as I think that is where I got the link. I contacted him a while back and I believe he was moving, so was not taking orders.

I contacted him again, but long distance fabrication consultation can be difficult at times.
I have never ordered from him, so no endorsement. It was just that he was willing to make a top mount version with all the feeds and returns on the side.
