This is a problem with a buddys mini.. 1293 rather lairy wood n pickett built engine, twin carbs.. i personally drove it when we first picked it up.. was nuts!!! But he said to me the other day when he turned left it just lost all power for a sec then came back.. is a electric power loss not fuel etc as i heard it when i was next to him on a corner. Hes checked fuse box, battery n nothing wrong? This is only on left hand corners when taking them slightly harder than normal completely fine at all other fruitful driving... any ideas people?!

Coil HT lead on it's way out? - When cornering, could it be moving just enough to be shorting out on other wiring / bodywork?

I would start by double checking everything, stuff like grounds first undoing and re doing them (battery not moving and shorting is it) then look for coroded terminals
The coil power goes from starter - key - fuse box - dizzy so if its a power feed problem should be easy to track
What else does he lose with the power? Most things on a mini share fuses and you lose a couple things at once ( eg no indicators also = no brake lights )

If still no joy then maybe time to start testing parts
Is it a compleete loss of power as in no cylinder fires at all? That doesnt sound like ht leads or plugs but always worth a look

Just another thought too what carb does it have? Hs2/hs4s lean off in a bend ( dont know left or right though )

Yes i moved to the darkside *happy*

He has checked battery, fusebox, wires.. i cant work out why it suddenly started doing this? Trying to visualise what could be happening? I suggested to take column shroud off maybe somethings happening in there? Obviously something simple that at certain G's car goes 'off'

Are they hs carbs? The fuel could be forced up to the right hand side of the float bowl (looking from the drivers seat) and not going down the jet feed tube under gravity, or even not enough fuel in the tank causing the same effect?

did someone not have a similar issue recently and it turned out to be the float in the carb set incorrectly leading to fuel starvation in certain circumstances?

But why has it suddenly started to do this? Was fine for the last year? Plus it doesnt seam or sound fuel related

Dirt or crud blocking the jet, normally the rubber bit on the jet feed tube that seals against the float bowl goes crappy, had that with shaunas car before and had to replace it, but it would have to be doing it on both carbs for that to happen :/
