yeah, bit of a tricky one this, as its lots of short pulses, peak I think is 7 amps, average is 2-3, and yeah fused at about 10 amps

When I had the TT running on MS with a carb, it ran at 4 amps at tickover for everything.

I presume this will increase with rpm, but I never measured it.

I don't think I've ever fused the coil.

I'm mainly concerned about swirl in the runners caused by the tangential entry.

well the problem was found, a partial shorted wire after wading into the harness draining 25 amps but just holding out on 30 amp for a few minuits,

what a pain in the rear arch .....lol many thanks guys

The Ford coilpack in Shaunas isn't fused, as neither was the original coil for the distributor, the mj and edis are fused though. Glad ypu have it sorted Steve, it's a pita tracing electrical faults, couldn't figure out why the horn on my mates rover metro wouldn't work, turned out to be the rotary coupler for the steering wheel at fault, but the airbag which is also connected and shares the same earth still works, bit of an odd one! 😕

fuze it mate. I have personally experienced my mega-squirt freeze on occasion, on one occasion it frose while one of the coil drivers was energized, burnt out a driver and a load of wiring. nursed it home on two cylinders. 10A fuze is nice and safe, if your dwell settings are off or the driver plays up itll save you :) I was running the EDIS coil but not the EDIS module itself. no doubt the edis module provides extra safty but for the sake of a fuze its not really worth it :)
