A suck trough setup with a dump valve will turn your engine bay into a grenade... On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

As I said, I'm looking at fitting a simple safety valve to protect the supercharger in the event of spitting back, not to get shut of any excess boost. I'm new to all this caper, so I'm starting at the simple end and may work my way up to something else later, but for now its M45 with the carb bolted directly to the end of it to help keep temps down. Suck through means you'll have fuel where ever you have boost and even before you reach the charger, releasing that to atmosphere in a vapor is going to be nasty. Edited by jonny f on 5th Dec, 2014. |

I know the difference between suck and blow through. I'm only thinking of a valve that will vent any high pressure in the inlet manifold in the event of a back fire or spitting back, this in itself will burn off any mixture, and the boost i'm looking at running would not open the valve. A lot of the vintage supercharged motors run them, and I had one on an lpg car a few years back Maybe its not something thats not needed when running belt drive |

the one on the front of the manifold seems to be the right type of thing, but it would be easier if it was a stand alone unit. Whats the black one on the top doing? controlling max boost?
