Hi

I'm going to be swoping my brakes from metro to KAD 4 pots soon so i'll be changing the metro hubs back to mini hubs.
I've got adjustable suspension all round and the the car is lowered. At what height should I think about fitting some bottom ball joint spacers? I want to get it all set up so would like to fit them before, and while its all in bits.

Thanks
Josh

I wouldn't bother at all. They increase the scrub radius, make the steeriing heavy, ad massive camber change to the suspension and made my car impossible to drive.

Maybe ok with an open diff like the migs use.

I wouldn't go lower than having the bottom arm level at rest. Then get it all nicely set up.

Ok thanks will.

Is there any other bits worth getting? Its all new ball joints, rose jointed adjustable bottom arms, rose jointed adjustable tie bars, hi los, protech dampers.

Is it worth fitting the lowered type damper brackets? I already have them on the shelf :)

Thanks

Yes definitely fit the damper brackets. Also, if you're going that low you'll the hardest rubber doughnuts on to keep it reasonably firm. Yellow dot is the hardest.

Cheers will. Im not going mad but it will be low.

I've got red dots but I wont fit them until I fit the turbo engine and change the subby to the reinforced one I've made. I have genuine new ones fitted for now.

Thanks for your help :)

You don't fit hard springs because the car is low. You fit hard springs because you use heavy wheels or have a very heavy car????

Mine gets in the way a bit, but only when it is up. If it is down it does not cause a problem.

you fit hard springs when you have no suspension travel *tongue*

No, the problem is that as the car gets lower the top arm has les vertical movement in relation to the wheel movement. Thus the spring rate is effectively reduced.

The harder springs make up the reduction in 'real' spring rate.
