Hello,

New here, relatively. sort of forgot to make a newbie post.
I am sure some of you will know me already anyway.

My name is Chris and I have a white 1988 Mini designer, not that you can really tell anymore.
My main reason for joining is because I am helping my girlfriend (Lucy) rebuild her black 1988 mini designer (can you guess how we met?) and she has decided that she would like to have it supercharged, mostly because she wont be able to keep up with me otherwise.

Hopefully you guys will be able to help us out where possible and fingers crossed, we can return the favour in other areas, unfortunately my experience with compressed air is limited to blowing up rubber gloves and firing things across a work shop as apposed to increasing power in engines.

Hi everyone :) As standard as my designer looks I want it to be a sleeper, I might be a girl but I love cars and especially fast ones!

Any help or advice would be much appreciated and of course like Chris said we are more than willing to return the favour :)

Are you keeping the 998 engine? This could be a very interesting build.

Welcome!! Ive seen the white mini at a few shows before.. mitp i think u camped near us, remember looking thru the holes at engine.. cant remember what it was? Dont think it was A-series tho? And im soooo glad u have the sleeper approach!!! 1-because nice looking standard models are rarer and now getting alot more appreciation, especially if the engine is something totally unexpected! 2- sleepers rule!! Anyway... look forward to seeing a show us yours.. of both cars!! Seams like my kinda style..

The black one, named Fay, will be getting a 1275 engine which is from a SPI cooper, but is being converted to carb in the process, I suspect lucy will start a build thread for her after christmas.

My engine is an E16SE from a Nova GTE, but will soon be fitting a tuned X16XE, aiming for 180-200bhp on ITB's.
To be honest im not really happy with alot of things on my car now which is part of the reason for the changes, most likley will get a project thread going on here for the newer work as i have been slacking on the updates lately.
