I'm working on the same thing, looking at using Stainless fittings from BSS. 'Sch40' is the type I'm considering, there about 3mm thick, should take a lot of heat and pressure punishment. I'm planing on using 1 1/4".

Ive used the schedule 40 stuff and its pretty bomb proof, bit heavy though, although lighter than a cast one!

also look at the schedule 10 stuff, if your migging it then its pretty pointless going for the sch 40 (stainless)

also depends what your doing, is it a log type or mirage/ matty style manifold, if so deffo one of the above,

If its going to be somthing more tuned length, or a remote one, I'd start looking at Mandrel bends.
