Hello, Has anyone run a k1200 conversion with a distributer? Being a technology dimwit I am not looking forward to mapping and all that. Looking at the cam/oil pump drive I am wondering if the partial contact the drive belt has on the pulley would allow for accurately driving the distributer?

erm,

well, I cant inagine anyone going to the trouble of fitting a K head and using shitty clock work ignition, what next.... carbs??? LOL

well the cam will be tooth driven, so as long as the old cam and K cams have the same number of teeth they'll be synced, if its a 1275 you'd best hope they are if you havent removed the lobes....

Northamptonshire.

Just run megajolt and pay someone to map it for you. Less of a headache for yourself

Yeh, you'd be better off running a base map than clockwork. It's not hard to fit a coil pack and ecu either you don't have to be an electronics genious

Maybe overstating luddite tendency but the first engine will go into the endurance racer. So for simplicity a 123 distributer and carb is the order for the day. First choice would be a SU HIF 44 but it may see a DCOE. The second engine will be on a standalone ECM
