Mini sport have a Gearbox Re-Condition Kit - A+ on offer for £162.43. Seems cheap compared to Minispares etc. Has anyone had any experience with the quality of the kit or is it cheap for a reason?

You get what you pay for. You need decent bearings in your gearbox. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

There is only one genuine bearing in that kit and that is the forth motion shaft double roller. All the others are cheap shite chinese. On 26th Oct, 2004 TurboDave16v said:
Is it A-Series only? I think it should be... So when some joey comes on here about how his 16v turbo vauxhall is great compared to ours, he can be given the 'bird'... On 26th Oct, 2004 Tom Fenton said:

I would take it apart and see what needs to be replaced. Minispares and guessworks for parts. On 11th Feb, 2015 robert said:

Where would you guys get your gearbox parts from? Basically im changing the final drive. The gearbox performs great apart from sometimes at the traffic lights to get first gear I have to select another one first. Sounds like a normal mini to me. Also if you are only changing the final drive, you don't need to strip the gearbox. |
