ive fitted a mocal oil thermostat, i dont know what temps etc me oil is but figured if i fitted a stat then it should be a good idea.
i got a mocal one from avonbar, it fits in between oil filter and housing (looks similar to oil cooler thing) has 2 outlets to go to oil cooler.
anyway me problem is when cars been stood for a few weeks it has no oil pressure on initial start up for ages. starting engine on off a few times eventually does get pressure, but its a long enough time to do lots of damage and the last time i started it i had a feeling it wouldnt build any up atall.
so i thought stuck releif valve, faulty stat or a blockage etc, so checked releif valve ok. removed stat and hey presto oil pressures ok just tryed it tonite again and its still fine, so youd think faulty stat but ive looked at it in detail and it cannot ever go faulty in a posisition where you get no pressure, i think. which ever posistion it could stick in( and its working fine) youll still get good flow it will just either go thro cooler or not.

so im thinking that some how its getting air locked or ive fitted sommotb wrong any 1 any ideas or experienced similar,

p.s ive got a guage and oil warning light and there working fine, its a mocal 13 row oil cooler with union faceing the top

any help will be much appriciated as i wanna make to combe in sept *smiley*

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.
