A couple of weeks ago I collected my block from the machine shop where I had some work done including the fitting of new cam bearings. This weekend after collecting all the parts I needed for the build, I was going to start assembling the engine. It was only when I was giving it the once over I noticed these marks on the cam bearings, what are your thoughts?
Sorry about the bad pictures.

Thanks in advance,

If there are any raised lumps, smooth them with some wet/dry

Then try the cam, if it turns smoothly I wouldnt worry about it

Cheers, I don't remember feeling any lumps but I'll be to check again.

Thanks again

as above, jsut check for tight spots. the cam should turn with finger and thumb.

Fitting cam bearings is good old fashioned 'fitting'.

Stick the cam in and see if it turns freely. If it does no problem, if its tight and you need more then your fingers to turn you need to get your bearing scraper out! You scrape the high spots on the bearings until it runs freely. Theres a bit of skill to it but not too hard. Hopefully the guy who fitted them has done it for you!

i had doubts about similar marks on mine was told it was fine so long as its nice and free and all seams well so far remember the cam only turns half crank speed so not that bad in reality
