Hi Lads

Its been a while but I've started to crack on again with the mini.

I am making up my own HT leads for the Mini as the coil pack is mounted on the bulk head. I have ordered a bench vice crimping tool as the hand held one is £70! I am after the ends though, ive got the right ends for the spark plugs but I'm after the smaller end which goes into the Motorcraft coil pack.

Have any of you chaps had to source any in the past?

Cheers

Paul

I bought some fiesta plug leads and chopped them to length, and then fitted 90 deg spark plug ends. I used a coax crimping tool to make the ends off. Works well, and cheap enough. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/32139942071...f13=80&ff14=108

How long are the fiesta ones? I wanted them to be in the blue HT lead so that's what I have bought. Seems a bit extreme to buy a set of new leads just to take the ends off!

Any one else just bought the ends?

If it's the early Ford coilpack with the hollow female connector and strange clips around the HT cable ends, I doubt you will get a connector by itself.
As others have said, just cut up some Fiesta (or similar Ford vintage) leads.

If it's the later Ford coilpack with a female hole and male pin inside I think it's just called M8 (well something metric anyway) and you can get those seperately but I just bought late Fiesta leads......

Schrödinger's cat - so which one am I ???

I have a 3 fiesta leads as one was faulty so changed set and kept for spares. You can have the if you like. But they only cost about 25 quid for full set.

The Black Countraaaaay

As a few others have already said go to Halfrauds and have a look. It's quite amusing when a member of staff is staring at you while you're opening all the boxes and measuring the leads

You want a set for a ford fiesta 1.3 N-reg, these had the coil on the back of the block.
