The wide metro "thing" I just got is er covered in surface rust in the front engine compartment.
Whats the best way to remove,or what is the best rust eater paint stuff,Bearing in mind I will need quite a lot*oh well*

to be honest the only way is use a grinder with a P60 disc on and just use rubbing down production paper P40 Then P 80 and hours of scabbing to remove it all

then prime it and paint it

thats the best rust eater pure hard work!

As ben says

The only thing I would add is to use some kurust or equivalent to convert any iron oxide embedded in the surface into iron phospate which is stable and inert and so will not come through your paint in the future.

Try some jenolite, great stuff... just make sure you wear gloves and goggles or you'll die *happy*

i use frost stuff alot never had any probs with it

dangerous i have there catalogue here if you wqant to borrow it

I've always considered the best way to get rid of rust is to have the offending areas shot peened.
