You need a fuel gauge there only about a £10 on eBay, then set fuel pressure to 4 psi. Adjust main jet in carb so that it's flush with the top of carb then 2 1/2 turns down that's the base setting

It's unlikely the FPR is the problem, but fuel pressure should be checked so you know it is correct anyway.

202mph standing mile
speed didn't kill me, but taxation probably will

Fuel pressure will have no effect on the car at tickover, unless:

1) It's too high and all you do is flood the engine and the car stops.
2) it's too low and it can't open the needle valve - result, the car stops.

As it's a HIF I bet the choke seals are buggered. No point taking it to the RR if you've not checked and changed them.

Finally, have you tried leaning the mixture? and where is the jet currently sitting?

i bought a genuine SU kit and just went over the whole carb do cheek out the passage ways thouauly it apiars i missed the bowl vent to plenum ones and have had to use the well known "T piece trick"

no expert but i think the jet should be just below flush with the bridge take the dash pot off to check that just 3 screws

as wil h said check the choke out but if its gone bad imo might as well do the whole lot ie a full kit at least youll have a good change of no problems

Turbo-phill has the full rebuold kits. Be careful of the ebay 'service' kits. These don't have all the parts.
