If your going to have a die that size you must surely have a set of thread gauges!

If you dont have a die then you might be better off with a thread file. A die that size is probably going to be more expensive than a brand new CV!

I'll borrow a die from work with any luck :)

I guess I should just use a thread Gauge, but I'm at work and my stuffs at home so I'm being lazy!

For some reason somewhere along the line I've managed to hit the driveshaft and its squashed the first couple of threads up so the nuts stiff going on. the threads fine where you torque it up so Im trying to avoid a new cv. I know they aren't too expensive but this cars cost me enough lol

Another thing to look at is investing in a set of thread files. I thought they were BS until I purchased a set of good quality old school ones.
They are perfect for when the end of the thread is chewed up and you can't get a die on there, or there isn't enough thread before the damage to keep the die square.
I also use them to lightly clean up threads, like removing old loctite, or other little marrs.
