I'd like to keep it but I just don't have the time or money to do the work properly.

A few photos:

and text:

After owning this car with in our family for the best part of ten years it has reached a stage where it needs a bit more work than I am capable of so rather than leaving in in the back of the garage unloved it is time to pass it on to someone who can restor it to it true glory and enjoy the car.
The car is a K reg MG Midget built in Dec 1970 and first registered a month later in Jan 1971, I'll let you decide if that makes it a 70 or 71 car, either way it's tax exempt.
The good points:
The car is road legal and drivable with an MoT until June
The car is complete, it's not a box of parts with bit's missing
It has the more desirable 1275 engine
The bonnet, wings, doors, boot, front valance assembly are solid
The bad points:
The drivers side floor has been replaced as has the heal board on the drivers side, the welding is the prettiest. The passengers side has an MoT advisory and could dow it being replaced, if I was to keep the car I'd probable replace the entire floor and heal board, panels are availible from the likes of MOSS for reasonable money
There is rust bubbling up on the rear wings
There is also rust on the boot floor
I've not checked the inner sills but given it's a Midget they probably need doing as well
The engine has done 90K and is a bit down on power, it still starts and drives but could probably do with a rebuild, and it also leaks oil
The gearbox occasionally kicks you out of second
Neither the rev counter or the temperature gauage work, I've checked the temp guage by putting the sender in a pan of boiling water so I'm fairly certain it's the guage that's go as opposed to an underlying heating problem.
At the last MoT it got an advisory on the king pins so they will need doing but exchange units are availible from the likes of MOSS
There's a small tear in the roof by the seam above the passengers door
That's ablout all I can think of for now, as I say it's a complete drivable car but it is going to need some work.

£1275 ie £1 per cc of displacement
