I am wanting to install an oil filter between the gearbox and the oil pump, but I cannot find much information on the subject. Please post any photos or details you may have on the topic. Thanks

isn't this how its done anyways? gear box - pick up pipe - oil filter - pressure valve - oil pump - oil ways - gearbox?

No, the oil pump is fed with unfiltered oil.

Could be wrong but i dont think the pump would have enough suction to pull oil though a filter. You could possibly try by taking a pick up via the sump plug and putting it back in where the pickup pipe normally attaches.

It can be done and I have seen it done with filter between box and before the pump. Bit of a ball ache to prime the system though.

Would filter location affect that?
