im a bit fed up trying to find a good small transporter trailer for sensible money

for half of what they seem to fetch on fleabay i belive i could build one up

but!

is there any trailer building refrence sites around? ive not built one before so would like to so some reading first

indespension sell a manual.

Also, search for 'northern tools' catalogue as they sell a good range of axle's / hubs / lights / arches all cheaper than indespension I recall...

I'm sure i'd heard of people buying an old caravan and ripping the top off it and using it for the base of a car trailer

i have been using one like that but its damaged the car and its a nightmare to load/unload on your own

It has a very old and unusual tow ball so it will probibly have to be taken away on a trailer.

Just do the job properly and buy a car transporter. Mine was 5 grand, hydaulic bed, 5 tonne winch, and big flashing orange lights. What more could you want, LOL

Bit over the top buying a transporter for the odd times you are going to use it, have to keep it somewhere, another vehicle to tax/mot/insure......

Wolfie have you considered a towing dolly that lifts the front wheels clear?

yes tom used one in the past a few times there a good bit of kit

anyone who has been to my place can conferm space is not an issue lol

Lucky bloke, I have got 7 cars in various states of working order at the moment, parked in various places around the country, I'd love enough space to have them all to hand.......

ive got too many bits and not enough space as well!

Try fitting 2 minis in a single garage....

they do fit, just!

i rekon my trailer was good value for muny, got it from prg trailers in crew its only small just fits into a single garage with mini on it double axle brakes spare wheel winch etc it was just short of 1500 quid all in with 4 straps as well. good investment i think.

also you can hire trailers from places like indespension cheaply to i think.

no longer a series, but still 1.3 turbo.

i've been looking at trailers too recently but can't afford the extra out lay at the minute so i am going to have to stick with the hire option for now

did come across the following site which seemed a like reasonable price for a nice size trailer

try talking to the hire company saying that you will want it several times a year and get a cash deal

ive now managed to get a trailer for ?30 picking it up fri morning until monday

the hydraulic trailers are great! so easy to use that you can load it up by your self with confidence and also you can put the car on it and get underneath to put the exhaust back on!!

I hydraulicised a (gravity) tipping trailer I bought over here for my mini with one of those 'ram jacks'.

So, yet another of my lifelong dreams is fulfilled (owning a hydraulic tipping trailer that is....)

doh, i mean that jolly expensive trailer that i bought with my loose change, i hire it out to peasants for ?30 a weekend
