Hi guys,

Slight issue. Fitted a mega jolt system, engine ran fine on the drive last week. Pulled it out today and it wouldn't fire. Checked a few things and discoverd no spark. Swapped coil with a spare, still no spark. Swapped the edis 4 module with a spare and bingo. All ran fine on the drive, popped in for some lunch came back out and no spark again!
Any ideas lads? Checked the wiring seems ok, both modules were 2nd hand but I can't believe them both to be faulty. Something's up for sure.

Check the crank position sensor.

The distance from the trigger wheel? I'm guessing the polarity must be fine due to it starting and running.

Check the distance, but also it could just be duff or picking up interference. Is it used or new?

I had an issue with an intermittant starting issue caused by a faulty sensor.

Check you've still got a least 12 volts, it won't work with anything less.

That's interesting to know. That could well be the problem as the battery's not been charged for a while. I shall check and report back.

Not sure what you have in the way of trigger wheel, but make sure it has not slipped or moved.

Hi lads,

Right I've got it sorted. It was a mixture of a few things if I'm honest battery voltage low, sensor possibly to far away from the trigger wheel and a dodgy spark plug.
So having sorted that here's on to my next question.
I bought the mega jolt along with a laptop a few years back but the guy said the battery is knackered. So should I buy a £40 battery for the lap top with the map and software on or should I download the software to my working laptop and update the mega jolt? I've no idea what the software version and map the mega jolt is currently running on. I'd appreciate your help with this lads as I'm new to the electronic ecu setup. Cheers

The laptop I use for mine is ancient with a knackered battery. Just get yourself a inverter and fit a cig lighter.
