Greetings again folks...

I was out looking at the turbo and plenum chamber in the cave this evening and was having a little ponder on where either ends of an intercooler would connect. It looks to me like you would come from the intake side of the turbo, through the intercooler and then into the plenum before being mixed the fuel.
I.e.. For a mini that is not running an intercooler it goes where the silicone pipe would go joining the turbo to the plenum. If so, then the plenum needs some sort of adaptor to facilitate the piping/ducting of the intercooler as it would be impossible to plumb in those pipes/ducts as the space is too small.
I had a wee search and read a thing or two about mods to the plenum, can't however see any close up pics of this area & how it's been done... Anyone care to elaborate?

Dave.

Cut the end off and weld it back on at a different angle.

Ideally you need to alter the original pipes from the plenum to the turbo to suit. Pretty straight forward if you can weld aluminium. Jon Flannigan use to arrange this years ago but not sure he still does - he's been out of it for a while.

The other option is a "NIC" plenum which brings the connection to the plenum out of the back towards the master cylinders. Its a very nicely made and neat bit of kit.
