Hi lads,

I bought the mega jolt along with a laptop a few years back but the guy said the battery is knackered. So I'm now at a point where I am in need of setting a lap top up to see what happening with the car. Here's my question, should I buy a £40 battery for the lap top with the map and software on that came with the mega jolt or should I download the software to my working laptop and update the mega jolt? I've no idea what the software version and map the mega jolt is currently running on. I'd appreciate your help with this lads as I'm new to the electronic ecu setup. Not sure how it works, if I update the software what happens to the map that is currently programmed? Cheers

laptop should run straight off mains power no?

He said not to boot it up with the faulty battery.

remove the battery and turn it on bud nothing bad can happen
havent had a problem doing that in 10 years of IT

ive had a battery swell up and expload, just binned it and plugged it in,
