Right guys my 1310 has dropped a ring and is due for a refresh after 16k miles so I managed to grab a t3 in good order on the metro manifold with a turbo inlet, carb and plenum for 120 quid which I was happy with.

The problem: the engine is a high compression lump with a 286 cam so that's the first thing to go, spec below.

1310cc Stage 2 engine
10.5:1 compression ratio
AE 21253 +.040 Cast pistons
Crankshaft reground, new Vandervell comp bearings and thrusts
A+ Conrods balanced
Choice of camshaft, steel faced oil pump & duplex timing chain kit
Stage 2 ported and polished cylinder head 35.5mm inlet, 29mm exhaust triple collet valves fitted with 185lbs double valve springs
Turbo verto clutch assembly
Rebuilt gearbox using all new bearings, baulk rings, choice of final drive ratio, uprated diff pin & central oil pickup pipe

I'm looking for something around 130hp or more and simular torque figures.

So considering tge bore size and the skimmed head, what pistons should I be looking at? The head is a good and got me 90hp and 91ftlbs but I don't really want to open the chambers up too much for if I wanted to go back to N/A but if needs be then okay.

I was thinking maybe a compression ratio of 9 or just below to help keep things go while waiting for the lag of the t3.

Also would a gearbox refresh, 4 pin diff and straight cut drops be sufficient for the power I'm looking for?

Best regards,

Connor

i'd put some omega cast pistons in;
+60 6.5cc

but depending on how much you had the head/block skimmed and you may need to open the head up or get another one
what cc are the head chambers?

Thanks Benross, also how much would you charge to enlarge the chambers to 28 ish cc on my head and fit suitable valves for turbo, it's currently 35.5 inlets.

You need to CC the head first. All advice before that are only guesses.

As V says. Also if the heads been skimmed by much at all you'll struggle to get 28cc from the chambers.
